Anaesthetis testacea is a common species in Europe. It develops in dead tiny terminal twigs of deciduous trees and shrubs. Juglans and Quercus is very preferred in our climate. Adults are found on the host-trees.
The depicted beetles were reared from larvae and pupae found in thin dead twigs of common walnut (Juglans regia). They were collected in Kutná Hora (Central Bohemia, Czech Republic). Collected by M.Hoskovec.
