Body length:5 - 12 mm
Life cycle:2 years
Adults in:February - June
Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees
Distribution:Caucasus, NE Turkey

This very interesting beetle was reared from a dead twig of Castanea sativa collected in NE Turkey near Hopa village. Together with this species in the same branch we collected larvae of Parmenopsis caucasica (Leder, 1879). Judging from its behaviour Hybometopia starcki is probably a nocturnal species.
