The newly described species is undoubtedly associated with Centaurea behen (Asteraceae). This was confirmed by finding of larvae in roots of this plant. Adults fly quickly and land on leaves of the host plant. Usually it is possible to locate adults while actively flying. Occasionally adults can be found under the large basal leaves of their host plants.

The depicted beetles were collected in Serou 50 km NW Orumiye (prov. Azarbaygan-e Garbi, NW Iran).
