This massive species develops in roots of Ferula plants (Rejzek and Hoskovec, 1999). It was described from South-West Syria but is quite broadly distributed in the Near East and Asia Minor where it forms several subspecies.

Host plant:Ferula
Distribution:Turkey and Syria

The depicted beetles were collected on the host plant (Ferula) in plateaus under the peak region of Nemrut Dagi Mt. (Adiyaman prov., Anatolia, SE Turkey).
