The mounted beetle was reared from a larva collected in a dead hornbeam (Carpinus betulus) trunk
in Broumy (Křivoklátsko UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Central Bohemia, Czech Republic).
The living beetle was reared from a larva collected in a dead lime (Tilia cordata) trunk found
in Radotín (Prague, Central Bohemia, Czech Republic).
