Deroplia schurmanni is a nocturnal species endemic to El Hierro (Canary Islands). The beetle is oligophagous on various Euphorbia plants (such as Euphorbia balsamifera Ait. or Euphorbia regis-jubae W. & B.).
The depicted beetle was reared from a larva found in a dead branch of Euphorbia balsamifera Ait. in Charco Manso NW Valverde (El Hierro, Canary Islands). Collected by M.Rejzek.
