Phytoecia (Phytoecia) kabateki has been discovered in Syria by Petr Kabátek and subsequently described by Gianfranco Sama [❖]. This Phytoecia species develops in Ferula hermonis Boiss. (Apiaceae) [✧].

Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:April - June
Host plant:Ferula hermonis
Distribution:an endemic species to Syria


The depicted beetle was collected in Bloudan (بلودان‎) environs (Antilebanon Mts., Rif Dimashq Governorate, Syria). on May 17-23, 1995.
