Anaesthetis testacea is a common species in Europe. It develops in dead tiny terminal twigs of deciduous trees and shrubs. Juglans and Quercus is very preferred in our climate. Adults can be found on the host-trees and also are attracted by light.

Life cycle:1 - 2 years
Adults in:May - August
Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees (Castanea, Juglans, Quercus, Corylus, Rubus etc.)
Distribution:Europe, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey


The depicted beetles were collected in: (MR) - Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area (Central Bohemia, Czechia) in May 2021; (NR) - Hungary in May 2020.
