From Turkey and Syria Pygoptosia speciosa was reported to be associated with Serratula cerinthifolia (Asteraceae) [Rejzek et al. (2001)] and from Turkey with Serratula oligocephala (Asteraceae) [Rejzek et al. (2002 [2003])].

Adults in:May - July
Host plant:Serratula cerinthifolia and Serratula cf. kurdica
Distribution:Turkey, Syria

The depicted beetles were collected on Serratula cf. kurdica in plateaus under the peak region of Nemrut Dagi Mt. (Adiyaman prov., Anatolia, SE Turkey).
