This species develops in a broad variety of herbaceous plants (especially in Apiaceae). It is common throughout Europe.

Body length:6 - 14 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:April - August
Host plant:polyphagous in herbaceous plants
Distribution:almost all territories of WP

The beetle in the upper picture was collected on Pastinacia sativa in Jena (Thuringia, Germany).
The beetle in the lower picture was collected on carrot (Daucus carota) in Perivoli (SW of Corfu Island, Greece).
