Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees (Fagus, Quercus, Castanea, Betula, Populus, Acer etc.)
Distribution:Europe, Russia, Caucasus

The depicted living beetle was collected overwintering in a pupal cell under the bark of a dead standing oak in Kohoutov Mt. (Kųivoklįtsko UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Central Bohemia, Czech Republic). The mounted beetle was collected on a beech (Fagus sylvatica) log in Zbraslav (Prague, Central Bohemia, Czech Republic).
