Larvae of Agapanthia nicosiensis Pic, 1927 feed in various herbaceous plants such as Echinops spinosissimus, Cynara cardunculus or Asphodelus aestivus. Adults hatch in late autumn and the beetles appear very early next spring. The beetle in the picture was reared from a dead stalk of Asphodelus aestivus collected in the environments of Pafos, Cyprus.
