Alosterna scapularis, a species known from Azerbaidjan and North Iran, has been described from "Hadschyabad, in Persien" (Hadjiabad at Gorgan, Iran) as Strangalia scapularis by Lucas F.J.D. von Heyden in 1878 [▽].

Distribution:SE Azerbaidjan (Talysh Mts.), North Iran


The beetles in the picture were collected 2km SE of Peştətük (375 m a.s,l., Lerik Rayon, Talysh Mts., Azerbaijan), on May 5-12,2014.
