Anastrangalia renardii, a species occuring in Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Korea, and North China, has been described from Novokuznetsk environs (Siberia, Russia) as Leptura Renardii by Friedrich August Gebler in 1848 [▽]. Larvae of the species develop in decaying wood of coniferous trees (but only Abies was recorded), life cycle 2 years. Adults, active from end of May to August, are diurnal and anthophilous [❖][✧].

The depicted male beetle was collected in Komsomolsk Nature Reserve (Комсомольский заповедник; Komsomolsk-on-Amur environs, Khabarovsk Krai, Far Eastern Federal District, Russia) on July 2, 1991.
