Brachyta borni is a very rare species endemic to France, namely to the French Alps, where it inhabits the alpine zone. Its biology has recently been discovered and reported on by Brustel et al., 1997. According to this work Brachyta borni is associated with Potentilla crantzii. The larva feeds in the roots of this plant.
