Chlorophorus ruficornis, a species known from xerothermic oak forests of South-West Europe (France, Portugal, Spain), has been described from Provence (France) as Callidium ruficorne by Guillaume-Antoine Olivier in 1790 [▽]. Larval development in dead wood of several oak species [✧]. Adults, active from May to July, are diurnal and anthophilous.
