Cleroclytus semirufus collaris, a Central-Asian taxon of interesting tribe Tillomorphini, has been described from "Kouldjà" (Yining in North China nowadays) as Cleroclytus collaris by Alexander Ivanovitsch Jakovlev in 1885 [▽]. According to Mikhail Danilevsky [❖], C. collaris Jakovlev, 1885 is only subspecies of C. semirufus Kraatz, 1884 [✧]. C. semirufus collaris inhabits various habitats such as mountain and submountain forests, steppes and tugay forests. The species is broadly polyphagous and its larvae develop in the twigs of various decidouos trees and shrubs (e.g. Salix, Populus, Rosa, Atraphaxis, Berberis, Fraxinus, Acer, Eleagnus). The adults are active from May to July and can be found on their host plants as well as on plethora of blossoming plant species.
