Clytus raddensis, a relatively rare and not often collected species occuring in Northeast Asia (Russian Far East, China, Japan, Korea), has been described from Radde village environs (Jewish Autonomous Oblast, Far Eastern federal district, Russia) by Maurice Pic in 1904 [❖]. C. raddensis is a species of deciduous and mixed forests, its larvae develop in dying or freshly dead branches and twigs of many deciduous trees and shrubs. Young larvae feed subcortically, later instars create longitudinal galleries in sapwood and fill them by fine frass. Pupation in wood, life cycle 2 years. Adults, active from June to August, are diurnal and can be found on the host trees and occasionally visit flowers [✮].
Body length: 7 - 14 mm Life cycle: 2 years Adults in: June - August Host plant: polyphagous in deciduous trees and shrubs (Quercus, Fraxinus, Euonymus, Lespedeza, Prunus, Salix, Acer, Betula, Malus, Crataegus, Pyrus) Distribution: Russian Far East, China, Japan, Korea
