Body length:7 - 11 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:May - June
Host plant:Centaurea
Distribution:a species known from southern Greece (Peloponnese) and European Turkey

Most specimens of Cortodera steineri were collected on Centaurea sp. and we therefore assume that this plant serves as the host of this insect. Occasionally the beetles were found sitting on flowers of different herbaceous plants (Leucanthemum, Knautia etc.).

Collected by M.Hoskovec.
