Crossotus arabicus, a species distributed in Arabian Peninsula, has been described from Lahej (Yemen) by Charles Joseph Gahan in 1896 [▽]. Development in damaged, dying, freshly dead or charred trunks and branches of Vachellia trees. Adults, active from May to October, are nocturnal and can be attracted to light or found on host trees (check the page devoted to habitat and biology of the species).

Depicted mounted beetles were found in the wood of dead and charred trunks of young Vachellia sp. trees in wadi Darbat (N17°3′6″ E54°25′29″; 10 m a.s.l., Taqah/طاقة environs, Dhofar governorate, Oman) on September 25–26, 2025; The living beetle was reared from larva found in Oman in 2020.Collected by David Navrátil and Petr Kabátek
