Dorcadion beckeri, a rare Caucasian/Transcaucasian Dorcadion-species occuring in Azerbaijan and South Russia (Dagestan), has been described from Derbent environs (Dagestan) by Gustav Kraatz in 1873 [❖].

Body length:10.5 - 16 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:April - June
Host plant:roots of herbaceous plants and grass
Distribution:Azerbaijan, South Russia (Dagestan)


The depicted beetle was collected on the ground in low vegetation in Siyazan environs (Siyazan district, Azerbaijan) in April 2013.
