Dorcadion danczenkoi, a Transcaucasian species occuring in Azerbaidjan and North-West Iran, has been described from Talysh Mts. (Azerbaidjan) as Dorcadion (Pedestredorcadion) cinerarium danczenkoi by Mikhail L. Danilevsky in 1996 [❖]. Into species rank it was raised by Mikhail L. Danilevsky et al. in 2005 [✳].

Body length:♂♂ 10.7 - 13 mm / ♀♀ 11 - 15.5 mm
Life cycle: 1 year
Adults in:April - May
Host plant:roots of grasses (Poaceae)
Distribution:Azerbaidjan, North-West Iran


The depicted male beetle was collected 6 km E of Majara (مجره) village (N37°34′28″ E48°40′12″; 2200 m a.s.l., Khalkhal county, Ardabīl province, Iran) on May 26, 2018.
