Dorcadion drusum, species distributed in Near East countries (Israel, Lebanon and Syria), has been described from Syria by Lous Alexandre Chevrolat in 1870 [❖].

Body length:12 - 15 mm
Life cycle: 1 year
Adults in:April - May
Host plant:roots of herbaceous plants and grass
Distribution:Israel, Lebanon, Syria


The depicted beetle [❖] was collected on the ground in low vegetation in Ṣlenfah (صلنفة‎‎) environs (1390 m a.s.l., Latakia governorate, Syria) on April 25, 2005.
