Dorcadion striolatum, a Caucasian/Transcaucasian species known from Armenia, Georgia, Iran, and Turkey, has been described from "Caucasus" by Gustav Kraatz in 1873 [❖].

Body length:♂♂ 12 - 19 mm / ♀♀ 14 - 21 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:April - July
Host plant:roots of grasses (Poaceae)
Distribution:Armenia, Georgia, Iran, Turkey


The living beetles were photographed in Atskuri fortress (აწყურის ციხე) environs (Atskuri, Akhaltsikhe municipality, Samtskhe-Javakheti region, SW Georgia) on May 9, 2016. Depicted mounted beetles were collected in Kaspi (კასპი) environs (Shida Kartli region, central Georgia) on April 17, 2014.
