Dorcadion (Cribridorcadion) talyschense sabalanum, known from Ardabil province of Iran only (Mount Sabalan slopes and Neor Lake environs), was described by Maxim Lazarev in 2017 [❖].

Body length:♂♂ 12-17 mm / ♀♀ 13-21 mm
Life cycle:1 year
Adults in:April - May
Host plant:roots of herbaceous plants and grass
Distribution:subspecies endemic to North-Western Iran (Ardabīl province)


The depicted male beetle was collected in Neor lake (دریاچه نِئور) environs (Ardabīl province, Iran) on May 22, 2010 by V. Skoupý. The female beetle was collected on slopes Sabalan (سبلان) vulcano (2000m a.s.l., Sar‘eyn, Ardabīl environs, Ardabīl province, Iran) on April 23, 2001 by S. Murzin.
