Evodinellus clathratus, a relatively common European montanne species, has been described from Austria as Rhagium clathratum by Johann Christian Fabricius in 1793 [❖]. E. clathratus larvae develop under loose bark on dead branches or trunks. Before their second overwintering, they fall to the ground, pupate in the soil, and remain in the pupal stage. Probably a two-year life cycle. Adults, active from May to August , are diurnal and anthophilous [✮][✧].
