Iberodorcadion graellsii cinereum

Iberodorcadion graellsii, an endemic species occuring in Spain, has been described from Madrid environs as Dorcadion graellsii by Mariano de la Paz Graëlls y de la Agüera in 1858 [❖]. Its subspecies cinereum, known from Sierra de Guadarrama, was described from Robregordo (Community of Madrid) as Dorcadion Graellsi cinereum by Manuel Martínez de la Escalera in 1901 [✧].

Host plant:roots and basal stem parts of Poaceae
Distribution:an endemic taxon to Sierra de Guadarrama (communities of Madrid and Castilla & León; Spain)


The depicted beetles were collected in Somosierra pass environs (Sierra de Guadarrama, Madrid province, Community of Madrid, Spain) on January 21, 1984.
