According to Rejzek M. et al. (2002 [2003]) in Iran Niphona grisea develops in Calotropis procera (Asclepiadaceae).

Distribution:Iran, Arabian peninsula

Although Niphona grisea is a typical nocturnal species the adults never come to light. The depicted beetles were collected in Genu (30 km N Bandar-e Abbas, Hormozgan province, South Iran) on their host plant.
