Parmenopsis caucasica, a Caucasian species occuring in Georgia, Russia and Turkey, has been very briefly described from Surami environs (Georgia) as Parmena balteus var. Caucasica by Hans Leder in 1879 [❖]. The taxon was elevated to species level by Ludwig Ganglbauer in 1884 [✮].

Life cycle:1 - 2 years
Adults in:May - August
Host plant:polyphagous in deciduous trees (Corylus, Rhododendron etc.)
Distribution:Georgia, Russia: South European Territory, Turkey


The depicted beetles were collected in Lazarevskoe (Лазаревское) environs (Lazarevsky city sistrict of Sochi, Krasnodar krai, Southern federal district, Russia) on June 12, 2013.
