Phytoecia albovittigera, an only European representative of the Paracoptosia subgenus occuring in Eastern Balkan peninsula, has been described from
European part of Turkey by Lucas Friedrich Heyden in 1863 [❖].  
Mikhail Danilevsky included this species in the newly established subgenus Paracoptosia in 2017 [✩].
