Plagionotus arcuatus multiinterruptus, a subspecies occuring in Transcaucasia, has been described as Plagionotus arcuatus var. multiinterruptus by Maurice Pic in 1933 [▽].

Body length:♂ 11.5-18.5 mm / ♀ 12.2-16.6 mm
Life cycle:1 - 2 years
Adults in:May - July
Host plant:prefers Quercus spp.
Distribution:Nakhichevan region of Azerbaijan, Armenia, NE Turkey (?) [❖]


The depicted living beetles were collected mating on trunk of falled dead Caucasian oak (Quercus macranthera) found in the edge of sparse mountain oak forest 3 km West of Lichk (Լիճք,; 2300 m, Syunik Province, South Armenia) on June 7th, 2012. The mounted specimen was captured on hawthorn (Crataegus) in the same locality (in elevation 1772 m a.s.l.) on June 1, 2013.
