Life cycle:2 - 3 years
Adults in:May - September (mainly in July - August)
Host plant:larval development in dead wood of coniferous trees (Picea, Pinus, Abies, Larix)
Distribution:Europe, Russia, North Africa


The depicted living beetles were photographed in: ♂ - Velký Klín Mt. (Bělá pod Pradědem - Filipovice environs, Jeseník district, Olomouc region, Silesia, Czechia) in August 11, 2013; ♀ - Boří les (Valtice environs, Břeclav District, South Moravia, Czechia) on August 3, 2014.
