Although according to H. Özdikmen et al. [❖], Stenocorus auricomus (both subspecies) is distributed only in Taurus Mts. (Toros Dağları) in southern Turkey, the real area of the species' occurence is distinctively larger, reaching easternmost provinces of Turkey (viz. depicted specimen of Stenocorus auricomus auricomus from Biltis province).

This very rare beetle was captured ca. 15 km SE of Tatvan (1740 m, Kavuşşahap Dağları, Bitlis province, East Turkey) on June 12, 2011.
