Stenocorus insitivus, a Caucasian species occuring in Russia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Iran, and Turkey, has been described from South Russia as Leptura insitiva by Ernst Friedrich Germar in 1823 [▽]. The larval biology of this remarkable species is unknown, adults can be found en masse on flowers (often on Apiaceae) in forest biotopes from May to Agust (peak at the turn of June and July).

The depicted beetles were collected in: ♂ - Martuni (Մարտունի) environs (Gegharkunik province, Armenia) on June 21, 2014; ♀ (brown) - Tvalivi environs (Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, Georgia) on June 20, 2015; ♀ (black) - Khosrov Forest State Reserve (1500-1900 m a.s.l, SW slope of Gegham mountain ridge, Ararat province, Armenia) on July 14-15, 2003.
