Akimerus berchmansi, a rare Cerambycid of oak forests occuring in Turkey and Syria, has been described from Hatay province of Turkey by Josef Breit in 1915 [▽]. Biology of the species is not known, but with high probability will be very similar to the sister species Akimerus schaefferi (Laicharting, 1784).

The authors of our portal cannot fully agree with some of the conclusions published in recent works by Janis Vartanis and Hüseyin Özdikmen concerning the taxonomy of the genus Akimerus (at the subgenera, species, and subspecies levels), and therefore we only cite them here [✳][✰][✮].
