Dorcadion indutum, a Transcaucasian species occuring in Armenia and Azerbaijan, has been described from "Transcaucasia" by Franz Faldermann in 1837 [▽].

This interesting Dorcadion species is variable in the coloration and elytral strips length / width. We collected this beetle in two distant (175 km) localities in Armenia, both populations were different (see pictures).

Body length:	11 - 18 mm
Life cycle:	1 year
Adults in:	May - June
Host plant:	roots of grasses (Poaceae)
Distribution:	Armenia, Azerbaijan

The depicted living beetles were collected in alpine meadows 6 km SW of Vaghatur village in altitude 2100-2300 m (Syunik province, Armenia) on June 11, 2012. The mounted beetle was collected in Khoznavar (Խոզնավար) village environs (Tegh municipality, Syunik province, Armenia) on May 15, 2011.
